The PicoScope 5000D Series FlexRes oscilloscopes and MSOs feature up to 16 bits of vertical resolution with up to 200-MHz bandwidth and 1-GS/s sampling speed. ESD-rated ceramic-capacitor portfolio
This vendor has announced an expanded ESD-rated ceramic capacitor series into a complete product portfolio. Automotive and commercial grades are now available in EIA 0402, 0603, 0805 and 1206 case sizes with voltage ratings of 16 to 250 VDC. These devices provide miniaturization and enhanced flexibility to optimize ESD suppression, RF filtering, blocking, sensing, and circuit protection. The product portfolio offers additional case sizes, voltage ranges, capacitance values and ESD ratings with more options for a wider variety of customer applications. Design engineers can choose either X7R or C0G dielectric for circuits requiring Class-II or Class-I stability and noise performance with the ability to design to given ESD criteria per the Human Body Model (HBM) AEC-Q200-002. ESD events may cause undesirable operation in a circuit and possible damage due to human contact, which is a major cause of electronic equipment failures during circuit assembly or in the field. These issues are estimated to reduce assembly-line productivity by up to 33%. TDK offers multilayer chip beads with high rated currents
This vendor’s MPZ0603-H Series multilayer chip beads for power lines in an IEC 0603 package (EIA 0201) feature twice the rated current and about half the DC resistance of the existing MPZ0603-C Series. Because of a newly developed technology for the internal electrodes, the vendor says it was able to reduce the DC resistance to as low as 36 mΩ, thus increasing the rated current to as high as 1,900 mA. The MPZ0603-H Series offers high impedance values ranging from 22 Ω to 120 Ω at 100 MHz. The new chip beads measure in with a miniature footprint of 0.6 mm x 0.3 mm and a low insertion height of just 0.3 mm. With their compact dimensions and electrical specifications, the ferrite beads are suited for a wide spectrum of noise-suppression measures in the IC power-supply lines of smartphones, audio players, PCs, and other devices. As the multifunctionality of portable devices such as smartphones continues to grow, high current ratings are becoming an increasingly important factor for components in the IC power-supply lines. EMI/EMC compliance testing
The EMCVu is an all-in-one solution for EMI/EMC pretesting and troubleshooting. In today’s electronic design environment, about 50% of products fail EMC testing the first time. According to the vendor, EMCVu gives engineers an accurate, convenient, and cost-effective approach to determine if their product designs will pass EMC emission compliance testing on the first try. Precompliance testing reduces failure rates, but introduces its own challenges including difficult and expensive equipment setup, testing accuracy, painful debugging, and a lack of reporting tools. At the core of the new solution are the real-time USB spectrum analyzers, including the RSA306B, which offer the performance of traditional desktop instruments at a fraction of the cost. Powered through USB connection, the small size of the vendor’s real-time USB spectrum analyzers makes it easy to perform EMI/EMC testing outside the lab environment in relatively low-noise environments, such as basements or parking garages. Compact power entry modules
The new DD14 Series packs functionality into a new generation of compact power-entry modules, combining an IEC C14 appliance inlet with 2-pole switch and 2-pole fuseholder. EMC performance is further enhanced with a depth-saving 2-stage filter. Shielding is optimized by screwing the metal casing of the filter to the panel, using its horizontal or vertical flange. A snap-in filter version eliminates the flange, consuming even less panel space. The DD14 integrates the EMC filter directly in line with the power input. The 2-stage filter design suppresses interference voltages more effectively over a much broader frequency spectrum than single-stage filters, thereby having a positive effect on electromagnetic compatibility. Standard and low-leakage medical filter options are available for use in commercial or facilities ICT equipment. It is compatible with V-Lock retaining cordsets.
