July 5, 2013. Pickering Electronics, the manufacturer of reed relays for instrumentation and automatic test equipment (ATE), will exhibit its line of surface mount, single-in-line (SIL), dual-in-line (DIL), and package-style products at Semicon West, July 9-11 in San Francisco. The products serve in high-voltage switching, RF switching, and other applications while offering low thermal EMF and supporting direct drive from CMOS.
Pickering Electronics will highlight the following products amongst other products at Semicon West:
- Pickering Electronics’ 117 Series reed relays are suitable for very high density applications such as ATE switching matrices or multiplexers. They are available in 3-V and 5-V, 1 Form A and 2 Form A variants and are constructed using the vendor's SoftCenter technology.
- Pickering Electronics’ Series 113 changeover single-in-line reed relay is the company's smallest changeover. They’re magnetically screened and require a board area of only 0.15 inches (3.8 mm) by 0.5 inches (12.7 mm). They have a 3-W rating and are constructed using SoftCenter technology.
- The Series 104 fits on a board area of 0.25 x 1.0 inches (1 Form A). Relays in this series are available with ratings to 3 kV with rhodium plated, vacuum switches in a single-in-line plastic package. They are constructed using SoftCenter technology.
- Series 60/65 models fit on a board area of 0.65 x 2.3 inches and are available with ratings up to 15 kV with tungsten-plated, vacuum switches. Series 60 models are for chassis mounting with solder tag connections; Series 65 are for PCB mounting.
The company also offers the free “Reed RelayMate” Book, which describes how reed relays are constructed, what types there are, how they work, what parameters affect their operation, how to choose the correct relay. The book is available from the homepage of Pickering Electronics’ website. Copies will also be available at Semicon West. www.pickeringrelay.com
