Vendors tout power meters and sensors, expanded DSO portfolio, and more

Power meters and sensors, public-safety radio support, and an expanded line of digital oscilloscopes highlight instrument makers' recent innovations. Agilent, Rohde & Schwarz, Tektronix, and Aeroflex have all introduced new communications test products, while B&K Precision expanded its digital storage oscilloscope portfolio.

In other news, Cognex debuted a vision product, SDI introduced a data-acquisition systems, and Mentor Graphics announced cooling simulation software.

Agilent Technologies introduced the Agilent 86122C multiwavelength meter as well as the N7747A and N7748A optical power meters. The two-channel N7747A and four-channel N7748A bring the sensitivity of the 81634B sensor module to the compact multichannel N77 platform, with updated memory size and data-transfer speed. The Agilent 86122C's wavelength range of 1270 to 1650 nm covers all fiber-to-the-home, metro, and long-haul transmission systems. Click here for more.

Rohde & Schwarz has added the R&S NRP-Z58 to its portfolio of power sensors. The sensor's high measuring speed of over 300 measurements per second in buffered mode allows especially fast power measurements. With a range of 55 dB (-35 dBm to 20 dBm), it offers large dynamic range (DC to 110 GHz). Click here for more.

Aeroflex has announced the addition of support for Harris P25 portable radios, including the P7300, P5500, and XG-75 Series. Aeroflex also announced the addition to the 3920 of support for the RELM Wireless KNG Portable Command Series P25 radios. The support comes in the form of a new application for the Aeroflex 3920 Auto-Test II system. Click here for more.

Tektronix announced a demonstration of an M-PHY test solution for Synopsys HS-Gear3 silicon-proven HS-Gear3 IP, a key part of the MIPI Alliance M-PHY physical layer specification for mobile devices. The Tektronix test solution allows designers to quickly and efficiently characterize designs and verify performance, ensure compliance with M-PHY specifications, or quickly isolate problems.
