Static Cop Detects Static Charge
June 18, 2013. Static Cop Model ECD-12 has been developed as an inexpensive aide in detecting and notifying users when an electrical charge of sufficient intensity is introduced into a monitored area. Operator friendly, the unit's simple design eliminates the potential for the introduction of operator error in setup or use of the device.
A green LED indicates the unit is active. Audible and visual alarms are activated when an electrical charge that exceeds the device threshold becomes present within the range of the detector. Useful in assuring compliance to guidelines established by the ESD Association Standard, S20.20—”Protection of Electrical and Electronic Parts, Assemblies and Equipment.”
The unit comes complete and ready to use. A power supply (120-VAC input, 12-VDC output) is included. No calibration is required. The alarm threshold is 2 kV at a distance of 30 cm. Higher or lower alarm thresholds can be obtained through location of the ECD-12 unit. ECD-12 dimensions are 3.0 x 7.5 x 5.0 cm. Base price: $199.
