Group Intellect Power Technology celebrates opening of 2nd high-volume factory in Vietnam

More than doubling Group Intellect Power Technology's capacity for its growing base of customers, the plant is located in Vietnam’s Dong Nai Province near Ho Chi Minh City (Saigon) in southern Vietnam.

Hong Kong-based Group Intellect Power Technology's U.S. subsidiary is Brightworks Technology, based in Carsbad, CA. The company announced its rebranding of Brightworks in late February.

Celebrating the factory opening, Group Intellect Power Technologyheld a ribbon cutting gala ceremony March 29 to commemorate this latest milestone, with more than 700 attendees that included company officers, employees from both Vietnam factories, along with dignitaries and guests from around the world.

"We are thankful for the hard work of the whole team that has brought about this momentous occasion," Group Intellect Power Technology CEO and founder Daniel Ma said during the event. "It has been one year since we broke ground and here we are with over 500 workers already joining the family. This is such a wonderful opening for our second manufacturing plant here in Vietnam. The investment and expansion of our manufacturing footprint here in Vietnam underscores our commitment to the region, and to world-class quality and manufacturing which helps strengthen partnerships with our global customers. I want to thank everyone who has helped us on this exciting journey of our accelerated growth."

At the event, Group Intellect Power Technology also marked the 12th anniversary of its other Vietnam plant in Bien Hoa's Amata Industrial Park.

Brightworks Logo 5c76fa02457c1At the recent APEC expo, held March 17-21 in Anaheim, CA, I spoke Carl, who relayed his excitement about the new plant before providing me with a great overview of the GIPT and Brightworks' history, their culture, and what it's been up to lately. At Brightworks' APEC booth, he unveiled for the first time the company's Silverback series of LED drivers, comprised of five new products that come in 160W, 240W, 320W, 480W, and 600W options. Silverback is the first product line from Brightworks' new development initiative to produce leading reliable, efficient, compact, and water-resistant AC/DC LED drivers for demanding outdoor, architectural lighting, signage, and horticulture applications.


Brightworks designs, tests, and manufactures power conversion products including AC/DC power supplies, as well as battery chargers, and external power adapters from 1 to 3,000 Watts. In addition to OEM services, the company provides ODM services, along with value-added services such as plastic injection molding and high-volume printed circuit board assembly using surface mount technology.
