Princeton Technology Selects Verigy V93000 as Next-Generation Consumer Mixed-Signal SOC Test Platform
CUPERTINO, CA, January 14, 2008
Verigy (NASDAQ: VRGY), a semiconductor test company, today announced that Princeton Technology Corp. (PTC), a fabless IC design company in Taiwan's consumer IC market, has selected the Verigy V93000 Pin Scale test solution as its next-generation SOC testing platform. PTC selected the V93000 Pin Scale solution for its single, scalable platform and installed base in outsourced semiconductor assembly and test companies (OSATs) as well as Verigy's reputation and heritage in semiconductor test.
PTC will use the V93000 Pin Scale System with MB AV8 (multiband audio/video card with eight channels) for testing its full range of advanced mixed-signal SOCs for a variety of consumer electronics applications. The company's SOCs are used in DVD, portable audio players, digital TV, and home and office appliances. PTC already has tested several devices on the Verigy V93000 solution, including some of its advanced DVPs (digital video processors), DVD, and DVD-T devices. Verigy's strong installed base with OSATs makes it easy for PTC to transfer test programs to its outsource service providers.
“The V93000 Pin Scale solution is well recognized as the industry's technology leader, which aligns with our commitment to delivering first-cut success for our customers,” said Richard Chiang, chairman and CEO of PTC. “We selected Verigy's testing platform without considering others. Not only does it offer the wide scalability needed to support our full line of SOC devices for various applications, but the combination of the system's reliability and stability and the excellent support we receive from Verigy also reduce any production delays.”
“For fabless design companies in the consumer space like PTC, a reliable system for engineering and production test is essential,” said Pascal Ronde, vice president of sales, service and support at Verigy. “In addition, as the company expands its offerings to anticipate growing market demand in new application areas, the flexibility of the V93000 platform will serve them well.”
