Temperature Device Uses OS-Independent Protocol

Measurement ComputingThe USB-2001-TC is a single-channel, 20-bit device that measures temperatures over the ranges defined by NIST J, K, R, S, T, N, E, and B thermocouple types. It has a 250-ms conversion time, features integrated cold junction compensation, and provides open thermocouple detection.

Like all products in the DAQFlex line, it is supported under both Windows and Linux operating systems and uses a new OS-independent protocol for text-based message programming. Firmware parses text-based messages transmitted through a device driver and converts them into DAQ-specific commands that control the device.

The 0.8"x 1.5” x 2.5" unit has a 2-meter USB cable attached to one end and a socket on the other end for receiving thermocouple miniplugs.
