The Model 409B/02 is a four-output, two-frequency direct digital synthesizer signal generator. It provides two phase-synchronous sine wave outputs up to 171 MHz and matching LVCMOS outputs, serial control, 500-MHz external clock input, and on-board TCXO stable to ±1.5 ppm. This model also has 32 bits of frequency resolution, 10 bits of amplitude resolution, and 14 bits of phase resolution on each channel.

The serial control with simple text commands features nonvolatile storage of all settings. Menu-driven control software is included. The 409B/02 operates from a +5-VDC power source. The tabletop case allows the 409B/02 to be integrated into applications requiring multiple and frequency-agile outputs. Four units can be mounted in an optional rack-adapter to fit 16 outputs in a 1U space.

Other models in the 409B family include the 409B-AC and the 409B. Model 409B-AC has four frequencies and adds two rear-panel SMA connectors for external control of output update and table timing. The Model 409B has four frequencies and deletes the rear-panel control.
